This policy explains what personal information we collect through ssremedial.au and in the course of our work, why we collect it, and how we handle it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Enquiry and quote details you give us through our website forms, by phone or by email: your name, phone number, email address, the property address and suburb, the service you are asking about, a description of the problem, and any photos or files you upload.
- Job information needed to inspect, quote and carry out work, such as site access details, inspection findings, photos of the property, and billing details.
- Website usage information collected automatically, such as pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, the page that referred you, and whether you called us or submitted a form after visiting.
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to respond to you and provide our services. You can contact us without identifying yourself, but we may not be able to quote or attend a property without basic contact and address details.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, arrange inspections and provide quotes.
- To carry out and document our work, issue invoices, and honour warranties.
- To meet our legal and licensing obligations.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it, and to measure how well our advertising is working.
- To contact you about our services where you have asked us to, or where you would reasonably expect it. You can opt out at any time.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies provided by Google, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads. These tell us how visitors use the site and whether an advertisement led to a phone call or an enquiry. Calls made from the phone number on our website may be routed through a Google forwarding number so we can measure this. Google may also use this information to show our advertisements to you on other websites.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and control advertising personalisation at adssettings.google.com. The website will still work if you do.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run our business, with:
- our staff, and subcontractors or suppliers engaged on your job;
- service providers who host our website and email, process our forms, and provide analytics and advertising services (including Google);
- our insurers and professional advisers; and
- regulators or other parties where the law requires or permits it, such as the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.
Some of these providers, including Google, store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States. Where we share information, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled consistently with this policy.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls on our systems and encrypted connections to our website. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee security. We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet warranty, tax and licensing record-keeping requirements, and then delete or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request.
